After years of being the worst team in the league, things are looking up for the Philadelphia 76ers entering the 2016-17 season. They will finally see playing time from Joel Embiid and Dario Saric, they signed a couple of veteran free agents, and they may have an honest-to-God superstar in first overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft Ben Simmons.
Today, that optimism was crushed as news came out that Simmons has suffered a fracture in his foot.

The Sixers have indicated that more tests will need to be done before a timetable can be determined for his return.
Depending on the severity of the break, this could be anywhere from a minor setback to a devastating blow for Simmons and the Sixers. His foot could be healed in a month or two, or it could be career-altering, if not career-ending.
The injury happened during the final scrimmage of the Sixers training camp when Simmons rolled his ankle.
